Review content:
We used this company last year to seal our deck and add a support beam underneath. We should have known right away when he couldn't get out to give us an estimate and then kept pushing back when he would do the work that we should walk away. We really wanted our deck, done, though, and didn't know who else to use.
When he looked at our deck he said the tops of our railings, which were 1x4s, were insufficient and definitely should be replaced with 2x4s, which he could do. We agreed and included it in the job. When he FINALLY got around to doing our deck, he replaced the railings with 1x4s - exactly what we had to start with. I called to point out the error and on the phone, he tried to convince me that they really were okay (despite everything he said when he was here to get me to spend more to replace them with 2x4s).
The deck looked horrible when he was finished and it was obvious the application of seal wasn't enough. We didn't want to have to deal with him, though, to try and fight to have him fit us in his schedule to come back and fix it.
The worst part is that after just one year, our deck needs to be redone. I'm not just talking about a little peeling. Whole planks are without seal and the railings and boards are peeling horribly.
I saw a BBB complaint recently that mirrored my experience with this company. He was so nice when he came to give our estimate - and personally we liked him -- but the service and workmanship just aren't worth the money or aggravation.
I think at one time this company was probably good but now is taking on too many jobs and the quality is extremely poor, not to mention the customer service. If you book him anyway, you have only yourself to blame.
