I've gone to Chic's "clinic" a few times to get some haircuts and other procedures done at much cheaper costs than at a salon, and I will go back to them again. But there are some things they could do better.
The facial and manicure I received from them prior to my wedding were done very nicely, and the facial in particular was nice and relaxing. I think the guy who gave my sister's facial might have been hitting on her, however, and she didn't appreciate it.
I also had my hair done the morning of my wedding and it was a fun place for my bridesmaids and me to go. They were all pleased with their hair and my sister even had curls still that evening, which is a rare event. I was a little disappointed with how my hair turned out but I realize that I probably wasn't specific enough with my instructions so I can't entirely fault the stylist. She was very nice and it was a great group of girls there who did our hair.
I tried to get a pedicure there once, however, and it was a poor experience. I previously had something very heavy fall on my big toe and it discolored a large area of the nail/skin underneath. The girl took me into the pedicure room where there were some other people, sat me down, and examined my feet. She grimaced at my toe even after I explained what happened and said she would have to get her supervisor. After 10 minutes of just sitting there, she came back with her supervisor and that lady starts examining my foot from all angles and making unpleasant noises. I explained what had happened but she didn't seem to care. Then she stood up and announced that they couldn't give me a pedicure for fear of fungus or other infection. The other people in the room looked at me like I was a freak show and I was QUITE embarassed. The lady told me that they don't do pedicures if people have had injuries or any toe problems. At this point I got mad and said that they should have asked about this on the phone when I made my appointment, since I left work early and drove 15 minutes to get the pedicure in the first place. I also told them that I didn't appreciate being embarassed. They apologized a little but not very much. So in my opinion, they need to be a little more straightforward about their rules when people set up appointments.
