This place defines hole in the wall, locals only restaurant. It was FANTASTIC! Hands down, the best Mexican we've had since moving here a year ago. We were the only people in the whole restaurant that looked like they spoke English as a first language (which told us we were in the right place). Most Mexican places have a tendency to drown their food in sauces and cheese (which can be good), but Pepe's food stands on its on without hiding behind a ton of cheese and sauce. The burritos are almost big enough for two and they are only 3.99! The chips are fresh baked and the salsa, while a little too runny for me, has a lot of flavor. The only down side is that they dont have a liquor license, so no margaritas (but judging by the quality of margaritas at the other places in this town, you arent missing anything at all!). Dinner for two with alcohol and tax/tip cost less than $20-you wont find a better deal in Jacksonville. Pros: Phenomenal food!!! VERY fast service great prices Cons: no margaritas, atmosphere
