Review content:
Open 24 hours-a-day and during the holidays that I have needed them, this Safeway is one of those "more modern" models that seem to be popping up everywhere when Safeway does a re-model.
Some great features include the organic food, Asian/Ethnic (yes I'm both, so no, I'm not meaning to slam you), Fresh Bakery, Video Store and Starbucks. Overall, the staff are pretty knowledgeable on finding various obscurities that I have tried to find myself and only rarely do they draw a complete blank on something that I can find later. The Asian/Ethnic section shouldn't be mistaken for the local Asian foods store as something like "candied ginger" seems to evaded this store during the Christmas season. Still, they do have the basics: rice, soy, various sauces from the Pacific Rim. The organic food section smells and feels as it should, though the variety in the Produce section does not match some of the offerings relatively close by at say a Top Foods in Woodinville. The Bakery is helpful and friendly and doesn't snicker too loudly when you chop up their fresh sourdough into stuffing-like slices. Finally, the Starbucks isn't quickest nor does it have the largest variety of pastries as a dedicated Starbucks does, but that may be in large part due to being in a supermarket. Perhaps the best feature of this 24-hour Safeway is that they are right across the street from a 24-hour Walgreens, so you can Prescription shop at two possible places that adjoin the same parking lot.
This is a pretty good Safeway, only outclassed by the one in Juanita, that *isn't* open 24 hours.
