Review content:
In Sept 2007, I ordered my oldest daughters wedding cake from Zoe's. It was perfection. October 2009, I ordered my 2nd daughter's wedding cake without giving another bakery a thought. We showed up on time for our appointment and had to wait 45 minutes because the appointment before us ran late. We ordered our cakes in 15 minutes due to other appointments that we had to attend. Everything was clear. There were short layers, tall layers and regular layers in the cake. We also ordered the groom's cake, which was to be a bowl of scoops of vanilla ice cream. At the reception, I looked at the bride's cake and it was not at all what we had ordered. All of the layers were the same and it was just a basic 4 tier round cake that I could have gotten anywhere. It looked as though it was thrown together as an afterthought. The ribbons around the layers looked like a child had cut them. With the groom's cake, the way the scoops of ice cream were cut, it looked like female body parts. You can only imagine the comments that were made. So embarrassing! I called and spoke with the lady that we ordered the cakes with and she told me she would have to speak with the owner and she would call me back. It took several calls to finally get through to her again. She told that they were very busy that day and that is why they were not able to follow the cake order. She also reminded me that I received more cake than I ordered and would only give me a $100 gift certificate for the store. I couldn't believe that they wanted to refund me only $100 for my daughter's wedding cake. I did not want the additional cake. I wanted what I ordered and paid the way that it was ordered. I finally was able to convince them at put the $100 credit on my credit card. This is the memory my daughter will have of her wedding cake. My niece will be getting married next June and I have younger daughter that will get married. Their cake's WILL NOT come from Zoe's and I will not recommend the bakery to anyone I know for any reason. Thank you Zoe's! Pros: ! Cons: Does NOT pay attention to order form.
