Review content:
I bought over $80 dollars worth of fish within the same week from Pet Land and I had one fish that oddly enough chased my more aggressive fish around so I decided to bring him back and get my money back or store credit toward another fish. Keep in mind this is only a $4.00 fish. At the same time I also decided to bring in a fish that was too large for my tank and donate it to the store. When I got there and told the gentlemen at the register what I needed he went and got the manager for a ""fish check"" The manager came over and I told him I would like to donate the big fish to the store and explained to him why I wanted to return the other fish. He said that is impossible, the fish I was trying to return was a community fish. At that point, I could tell he did not believe me, which made me very frustrated; he basically said I was a liar in directly. He also said you didn?t join the Pet Land club when I told him I just spent $80.00 this week in the store. What does this have to do with the situation? Why would I spend the time and gas to catch the fish in the tank and drive back to the store with a perfectly healthy fish if there was not a problem? He then said he could give me half my money back. If I brought the fish in dead with a water sample he said he could give me another of the same breed. Isn't that a full refund? I had to argue with him to get full store credit back. When I looked at the fish they had in stock they did not have any of the breed I needed in a smaller size left. I told him and asked if he could please put the credit on a gift card, he said; ?I don?t have any right now? Then he said he would give half store credit if I came back a different day! It?s not my fault they don?t have the fish I need in stock. I then asked him why he is making such a big deal over a perfectly healthy fish. He said they get stressed out going from tank to tank. I told him if you enter them into the tank the right way you could minimize that stress. He said I have 16 years of experience and it doesn?t matter. I told him I am getting as stressed out as my fish is at this point because of how I am being treated. He said; ?I have some stress coat medication for you.? What a rude, immature comment! Then walked back to a customer who was looking at a dog and completely ignored me. He eventually looked over and said I am with a customer right now even though he just walked away from me and ignored me. I said, ?is this how you stay in business in a bad economy by losing customers and not refunding $4.00 for a little fish?? he replied: ?No, we stay in business by sticking to store policy and keeping that $4.00? I told him to catch my fish that they had already put into their tank so I could leave. The other clerk, who was very nice, was trying to catch it and the assistant manager said let me do it. He put his dirty hand into the tank and tried to grab it with his hand! For 16 years of experience you would think he knows oils and debris on your hand can harm the fish! I hope no one else has an experience like this at a pet shop ever!
