Review content:
I've lived at the same address and had the exact same mailbox and key for about six years. My mailbox key no longer works. I have been calling the Oak Hall branch to request access to my mail for over 24 hours, but they don't take calls you must leave a voice message- which I did in a very polite and business like manner. In short I made 5 identical calls and did not lose my cool til call #5 when I angrily insisted they address this matter. No response! So I call the 800 national customer service line. This agent was even worse. She maintains that the USPS is not responsible for my USPS locked mailbox and that I would have to find out who IS responsible for the delivery of my mail. My USPS mail-mind you! She insisted it may be the apartment management who has control of my mailbox. I already knew this wasn't true but I go to the property management anyway and they are just as adamant that they do not control access to mailboxes, but offered to use their contact information with the post office to get the matter resolved. I thanked them for their help and now will be waiting a couple days for the USPS-who I called in the first place to get me a knew key or change the lock. While I will probably get my mail eventually let me say that I also left a note on the locked mailbox asking the carrier to let me have my mail. The carrier was equally as unresponsive. This is just too widespread a problem with the post office for this to be 1 or 2 incompetent employees. While It's true that these ARE incompetent employees, it's also true they have incompetent management! Why are the Oak Hall Lane employees offensively rude and unresponsive-because they can be!
