Businiess name:  SOL Restaurant

Review content:
I have a tradition of going all out at a nice restaurant for my sister's birthday. I had heard about Sol from a friend, and the menu looked spectacular. I made a reservation for a Friday night, but found we didn't really need one--the restaurant was busy, but there wasn't a wait. We decided to order two unique appetizers. A couple minutes later, we got some chips and three kinds of salsa which we thought was complimentary, and then we got our other appetizer. Never got the other one we ordered. No big deal, we knew we'd be stuffed after the entrees. So we ordered the entrees, finished eating and wanted dessert. By the time I actually started timing how long we waited for someone acknowledge us, it was 5 minutes. Based on that, we probably waited about 15 minutes before someone checked on us. They have a waitstaff fleet that kind of wanders around, but during that time, not one of them so much as looked at us, even though we were clearly done. The table next to us had at least two waiters accomodating the many drink orders that each person made. Finally our waiter came by and said, ""Well, it looks nothing changed since the last time I looked over here."" Then we got desserts and coffee and all was well. Check came, we were charged for the chips and salsa, so I figure someone else got our other appetizer. The food was good - I got the lomito en mole poblano, and the pork was some of the most tender I've had, and I LOVE mole. Inventive, like I look for when I'm about to spend a lot of money. But the service was not the greatest, and it's really annoying to watch the drunky table get the best service in the room. Part of what you're paying for at a higher end restaurant is good service, so as a result, my experience last night was waaaay overpriced. It's possible for service to be casual and attentive at the same time. All in all, I recommend going, even if you're not part of the drunky table. Pros: Great decor, inventive menu Cons: Bad service, loud atmosphere (could be a pro for some)
