My daughter got married this weekend at the Mill City Museum (great venue!). Our out of town guests stayed at Aloft (very nice!) and we wanted to have a day-after-the-wedding-brunch nearby. We chose Spoonriver for its proximity, initially, and are very happy we did! We thought about 25 people would show up, but many more did, descending on the little restaurant like an invading army. The staff were gracious and unflappable and arranged for everyone to be seated in short order, outdoors and at every available table indoors. The service was great, the staff very friendly and attentive, the food excellent! I had the scrambled eggs with chives and chevre and it was delicious, with fresh grapes and huge blackberries on the side...they certainly didn't skimp on the chevre! I spread much of it, melted and delicious, on marbled bread slices. Separate checks were no problem, either. We had a lovely end to a lovely weekend at Spoonriver! You should go! Pros: great food, very accomodating Cons: small
