Review content:
This restaurant abrubtly closed its doors recently, giving no notice to customers. It is obvious that they knew they would be closing. Having visited the Canoe Club previously, we purchased gift cards to present to our father for his 81st birthday on October 8, 2007. The employee who sold us the cards on October 6, 2007, said nothing about going out of business. The local Chamber of Commerce has no further information. The sign on the door says they are closed ""temporarily"", but, provides no further information. Even if they reopen, I would not patronize a restaurant that would deceive its customers. Nor do I believe that they will reopen and/jor accept previously purchased cards. Now we may very well be stuck with recently purchased, unused gift cards. For a restaurant that began with a decent reputation, they turned out to be deceptive and disappointing!
