Review content:
I hired them to repair our greenhouse. They appeared to be neat and organized. But that all flew out the window the first day. The owner Chip Burke went to four different home depots to obtain materials instead of waiting for them to be delivered at one place. Then he charged me for all of his running around. I would rather have waited for the materials. The workers did not have a copy of the contract therefore the put all of the rafters on wrong and did not paint them. All of the work had to be redone. The owner Chip kept saying how much money he was losing. When they put the rafters back on they were supposed to be notched which they did poorly. They left 2 and 3 inch gaps where they over notched the boards plus they put splinterd boards up. They were supposed to level the roof. They jacked up my vertical support beams and put scrap untreated lumber beneath them in the dirt haphazardly. They put a uneven 2/8 board staggard through the greenhouse which was not centered at all with nails popping out and boards all bent. When I tried tell him of my concerns he said I couldn't be pleased and then quoted what one of his employees said. ""She is trying to turn a %!#& into the Tashmahall."" I was quite stunned at the unprofessionalism. He had not seen the bad work but kept making comments on the money he was losing. He then said maybe we should stop work since you can't be pleased. I agreed. He then called back and wanted to make things right. I said ok but called him back and told him not to come due to the poor work, lack of communication, disrespect, and constant comments of losing money. When I went to the job site they had stolen $2,400.00 worth of material. I was shocked. I thought maybe the workers had made a mistake and thought the materials were the company's. I called Chip and told him to bring it back he said he would. I waited for 8 min and called back and asked where the materials were. He said they are not bringing them back. I then called the police. I had receits and a canceled check for $2,700.00 that said materials on it. A week went by and my husband called Chip to try and resolve this.We wanted our material back and wanted to discuss payment since Chip had never mentioned payment. He said he wanted to come and see the work. He made a appointment the next day with us but did not show up. He had someone call and cancel saying he was going on vacation and would not be available now or the week after. We have had a County building inspector evaluate the work and his report states ""Work performed by contractor poorly done, poor cut and notches on roof framing, roof surface rafters uneven and attempts to install supports under rafters poorly done, lumber overspanned, no proper support post on ends and no footings were under support post, untreated lumber in contact with ground.""
Cons: poor work, unprofessional, took materials that I bought
