Review content:
We took a group of home school children here for an art day. There was no direction whatsoever from the staff. We had no idea what we were doing. When I asked what to do first, we were told to let the children pick out a ceramic piece. Well, letting 8 children pick out their own pieces with price ranges from $5-$100 did not go well. So, we had to backtrack and pick out a piece that all kids could do (this should have been offered from the start instead of giving the kids full reign of the store.) After choosing our pieces, they told us to line up for paint. Having no idea what design or technique we could do, the kids just picked random colors that appealed to them. Then they sat down and essentially slapped paint on their ceramics. The staff did not offer any ideas or assistance outside of getting paint for us. And as far as the paint goes, they make you let them get it. They questioned the kids on why they were using so much of a certain color and not the other ones they originally chose (because they had no idea what they were doing when they chose their original colors!) The whole experience was frustrating and expensive. We were expecting some art instruction to help us with this project and received none. So $150 later, we have ceramics that we could have bought at the dollar store for $10 total. I gave this place another chance when I went with an adult friend. I really had to insist upon help from the staff to do anything creative. They just don't seem willing to do anything other than give you paint and ring up the sale.
Pros: Great idea and fun if you are artistic and want to create eclectic, one of a kind pieces.
Cons: Expensive, no art direction, staff is not very helpful
