Review content:
I'd been to Amber before many times for drinks with the girls. This time I'm entertaining an out-of-town friend who is a self-proclaimed ""foodie"". We have a couple wines, pretty nice. Server checks on us FIVE times while we're deciding on our starters. It's a Tuesday night so it's quiet. I have the Crab Tower. Tasty. More ""checking"" on us by the server. Annoying. Still quiet. I decide on Filet Mignon, which, in my opinion, is hard to fail unless you're at Sizzler. The potatoes, mashed, are more like soup. Very watery. Server is still ""checking"". Really annoying. The Baby Bok Choy was quite wilted. Okay, try a Cab with the meat. Cab is great. Meat is decidedly not. I have NEVER (even in my young adulthood at Sizzler) had a more fat-riddled beef portion in my life. I didn't even think about it until I looked down and my plate was full of fat but I didn't feel as though I'd eaten. Server comes around asking about dessert. I told her the Filet was fatty and she said, ""It's Tuesday and the kitchen may not be on their toes."" On their toes? Wow! In truth, the only nourishment I got was the Crab Tower and the Vino. I won't go back. Not even for a drink.
Pros: Valet parking (the valet fellows were quite polite); Very pretty environment, short but nice wine list
Cons: FAT meat, soupy potatoes, wilted Bok Choy
