Review content:
The Locust Tree is in a beautiful location, but the restaurant and catering does not live up to expectation. Food and service is really inconsistent. Some of the staff are really inexperienced, others are working really hard. One of the owners has a serious attitude problem. He was lurking around, grimmacing, and yelling at staff the whole time we were there. He was rude to guests, constantly telling them what not to do, rushing everyone to eat and get out of there because there was another event scheduled. If you're considering the Locust Tree for your wedding or special event, please think carefully. It's located on the same grounds as a golf course and pub. There's only one driveway in and out, so while you're trying to have your ceremony on the beautiful lawn, there's people flying up and down the road and yapping on their cell phones. The parking lot is all gravel, no marked parking spaces, and it get's jam-packed from golfers and people who don't know how to park a car without taking up 3 spaces. Some new management is really needed and could make this place a really great spot, but for now (Aug.2008) I would definitely discourage people from taking a chance on catching everyone and everything at the Locust Tree on a ""good day.""
Pros: Beautiful location outside and New Paltz area
Cons: Food and service disappointing, Owner's attitude, driveway and parking lot problems.
