When it came to my first child that I was told I would never have, I picked a doctor of my own ethnicity - only because I THOUGHT I would receive awesome care - after all, he came highly recommended by friends and family but I realized after going to him for three visits that had me in his waiting room for over a hour and even over 4 at one visit that the only reason that they highly recommended him was ONLY because he was the same race. I prayed to God that once I looked at my insurance company's list of the doctor that Dr. Gilliland would be that one doctor that would be my ""total package"" for my first pregnancy. Upon my first phone call to set up my first appointment.... God gave me rest ... the young lady on the phone, Laura, was the sweetest thing!!! I had several problems with delivery but Dr. Gilliland was there for me through it all, checking on me between his office visits and at night or early in the morning when I know he should have been home. Through all the problems he reassured my family over and over again and even sat with my mom one night and talked with her on how everything went... My mom, who is very hard to please, feel in love his bedside manner.... Two years later, I had my second baby - by this time my husband and I lived in Houston BUT I would have never thought of seeing any other doctor but Dr. Gilliland... AwESOME DOCTOR, MAN - AWESOME STAFF - Laura, Tony, Phyllis -- the nicest you want to meet!
Pros: Wait Time, Bedside Manor, OVERALL caring personality, does not rush you out of the door
Cons: Aren't more doctors of his standards
