Review content:
Having stayed at The Canyons Grand Summit, I can tell you it is a treat. From the well appointed kitchens to the mountain luxury decor, the Grand Summit really feels like a vacation. The Cabin restuarant has amazing food -- I recommend the filet and the chocolate fondu.
Walk just 20 paces to reach the fully-enclosed gondola that takes you up to the 3,500 skiable acres (the largest resort in Utah & 5th largest resort in the country). The Canyons is still relatively undiscovered and we found that we were often the only people on a trail!
Summer visit was great too -- The Canyons has some terriffic mountian biking. For those who consider themselves moderately to very fit, I recommend the 8,000 foot trail. Put your bike on the gondola and ride up to the start of the trail (have a gourment lunch at Red Pine first).
Pros: Luxury, 30 minutes to airport, close to everything
Cons: can be pricey at xmas, usually booked @ xmas
