Review content:
I woke up at 6:30 am in Galveston to meet my sister in Houston and pick her up. We drove to Beaumont, Texas (a total of over 3 hours driving time) and arrived to Genie's Bridal as they were unlocking the door at 10 am on a Saturday morning. We had a big day planned and had planned our arrival time just perfectly. I had called twice the preceding week to locate a dress I was interested in (was prettty sure I would buy) in a size that would fit me. I had been assured the dress was there TWICE...including the day before when I called and explained that I was coming from far away. Well, the women I talked to wasn't there and after an hour, the other employees finally admitted that my dress wasn't either. They didn't want to break the news because their coworker had obviously not actually checked the store (not just looked in the computer) for the dress. I also asked early on to please not waste my time, but they kept making me wait, hoping that their co-worker would show (she was running late). Finally, they admitted after an hour of my sister and I were standing there, that there was no way the dress was there. We drove back to Houston, and had a wonderful experience and I got my dress anyway! However, I could not believe that lack of professionalism that was displayed here or the insensitivity to what was going on. People in this business know to check the actual store inventory, not just the computer (I specifically asked on the phone). Regardless, I was made to feel even worse as what could have been regarded as an honest (although novice) mistake turned into another hour of waiting to actually find out the truth because nobody wanted to own up to what I had been told. I know many of the girls working here are young and likely inexperienced, but this is a business and my time is valuable and important althouth Genis's Bridal obviously feels differently.
Pros: Thumbs way down.
