My family started using Susan's Sewing for my sisters wedding. My dress, her gown, her maid of honor's dress and my mother's dress was altered there. Susan did an amazing job. Her work was extremely timely and incredibly well done. We are a picky family and to find someone who is incredibly self critical in her work was very satisfying to all of us. We all thought the price was very reasonable for the work and quality.
So then fast forward to my wedding. I knew right away after purchasing my very unusual and asymmetrical gown that the place I purchased it from was NOT going to do the alterations on my dress as I knew the only person that would do the best job would be Susan. I brought it into her shop with only weeks to spare and she was quick and thorough. Since my dress is asymmetrical it isn't easily hemmed nor bustled and she was creative with the solution. The bustle you wouldn't even be able to tell didn't come with the dress. I felt she gave me suggestions that worked for me and the dress and fit within my budget. Susan NEVER suggests alterations that aren't necessary and thinks outside of the box in solving unique needs.
As for my stepdaughters dress ....... I opened that only a week or so before the wedding only to find a lot of the beading on the front was coming off ..... I called Susan in a panic and brought it to her ...... perfect and done in literally days. Life saver.
I would strongly recommend Susan's Sewing to anyone who wants great work, thoughtful ideas and a feeling like your good friend is doing this for you because that's how much she cares. :)
