WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! My cat-sitter recommended Sandy's, when she realized that my 17-year-old long-haired cat had a couple fur mats. I realized that they were probably worse than I could remove on my own, so I made an appointment. During the conversation, I told them that my cat would not be happy about the process, so I was told that they hold cats at the scruff of the neck where it doesn't hurt and that would work out. I got my cat into the carrier and we came into Sandy's. The one woman looked at him and announced that he was one pissed-off cat. She took him to the table in the back room, and asked the other woman to help her, asking if the second woman wanted to hold the cat or do the trimming. My cat wasn't crying, wasn't struggling, wasn't fighting. AT ALL! He looked a little startled, but was basically calm. The second woman flatly refused, and in the nastiest, rudest way possible! She was just like, ""NO! I'm not getting near that cat. I'm not getting bitten by a cat! I need my hands for my job and I'm not going to get near him."" Like he was some sort of rabid wolf or something! And stomped away to the corner of the back room where we couldn't see her. No coming out to talk to us. No apologizing that she 'misunderstood' when we said that cat wasn't going to be a puddle of fluff over the whole process. I could NOT believe how rude and nasty she was. This is her BUSINESS!!! She's supposed to, oh, I don't know, deal with animals!???! And their owners! I called my cat-sitter to tell her my experience, and she was horrified. Completely upset and appalled at the last of customer service, at their rudeness, and at their complete lack of professionalism. She called them after hanging up with me, and as soon as she said, ""I'm calling because I referred a client to you...,"" the woman started SCREAMING at her! The owner (Deanna) got all defensive, screaming that she didn't have insurance, she can't get bit, etc., she wouldn't let my sitter talk at ALL, so after getting screamed at for nearly five minutes, she just hung up. Deanna called her back, asked why she hung up, my sitter told her because the woman refused to listen to anything she said, and Deanna started screaming at her again so she had to hang up again. Neither of us will EVER refer ANYONE to this horrible, horrible place.
