Review content:
Having been highly recommended by friends we anticipated a lovely dining experience at Restaurant Cypress and were sorely disappointed. Our salad took over 45 minutes to arrive and the entrees for our group of four took one hour and twenty minutes. Our table was too small for four such that plates were piled on the edge of the table while the temperature of the room was so cold that we had to ask three times to lower the ac. Since others had coats over their shoulders and arms crossed, we knew it was a universal problem. Our waiter ran frenzied back and forth to the kitchen and shouted out the specials such that we had to listen to the list several times during the evening. Apparently there were problems in the kitchen but our waiter offered only defensive responses and no apologies for the delay. While the menu prices were reasonable, the specials were all $10 to $15 above the menu prices, and with the restaurant only opening at 5pm we were not anticipating the menu choices to be already sold out at 7pm. If the service and decor were not sufficiently disappointing, the food clenched the deal as the crab cakes offered more bread stuffing than crab and the lamb was undercooked. Had we not been given a gift certificate to cover part of the meal, we wold have gladly departed early rather than spend all of this time in this most disappointing dining experience. Pros: available parking Cons: poor service, uncomfortable ambience, disappointing cuisine
