Run don't walk to Madison Avenue Baptist Church. The people here are amazing! Rev. Susan Sparks brings the Bible to Life with Laughter. It is not your Grandma's Baptist church but she may remember some of the songs, sung by a professional choir. Everyone is welcome! This church marches in the Gay Pride Parade, they have a blessing of the motorcycles, feed the elderly, house the homeless and bottom line you can be yourself. The friendly church ladies put on a good coffee hour after service and everyone is super friendly. With tons of brunch spots within blocks you can get your nonchurch friends to come with you: Penelope Cafe, Barking Dog, PS450, Crooked Knife, Artisanal Bistro, Brother Jimmy's are all within walking distance.
