The Best Mexican in SW PA! My wife and I recently had one of our most enjoyable dining experiences at Gutierrez Mexican Restaurant in Butler, PA. We wouldn't have thought that we were in for such an experience when we arrived. The restaurant is located in a residential neighborhood and we almost missed it. The owner/server/cook greeted us warmly and quickly brought out some fresh tortilla chips and two types of salsa. Being hungry we elected for some guacamole, which was delicious. My wife ordered chicken tacos and I had a shredded beef burrito. Both entrees were big enough to feed two people! They arrived with the traditional Mexican beans and rice, the difference was that unlike the other Mexican restaurants in the area everything was fresh. No canned beans to be found, the salsa was fresh, and everything was made to order. After eating our fill we shared a flan. Having spent much of my life in South Florida I know my flan and Mr. Gutierrez's flan was simply the best I had ever had. Who would have thought that Butler, PA was hiding such a gem! I have a feeling we will soon become regulars.
