Review content:
After reading the reviews on this site, we decided to give Yumi's a try. I've gotta say I don't get it. The fish was OK, but far from spectacular or even excellent. The maguro, in particular, was less than fresh and was of a quality that I usually see reserved for makizushi where appearance is not so important. Hardly worth raving about. The tamago was very good. The rest of the sushi we ordered was just OK, with one exception: My wife likes caterpillar rolls so we ordered one of those. The unagi was very good (probably the best fish of the evening). The roll was far from the usual flashy presentation I'm used to seeing, but the flavor balance was very nice. My wife declared it the best caterpillar roll she'd ever eaten.
Pros: Cute little place. Reasonable prices. Nice area for an after dinner stroll.
Cons: Average food. Below average rice prep and presentation. Inattentive waiter.
