I've parked at one of the Imperial Parking Garages in downtown Bridgeport for the last fifteen years. I have found the garages safe & convenient, and the management helpful and courteous - they even changed a tire for me once! Especially when comparing the experience and cost of parking in New York, I would recommend the Imperial Parking garages to everyone!
Pros: right across the street from the train station, safe & secure
