Review content:
We're a non-profit company and hired Jay Ray in 2004 to help us with a PR campaign. We paid a large sum up front, which we now realize was foolish mistake #2 (#1 was hiring this dishonest company). We outlined specific goals with time table in which NONE of these goals were met. When I called Jay Ray to inquire, I was told that we had been ""burning thru cash pretty quickly, so we need to talk about how we wish to proceed"". I couldn't believe it! Here's what we received for $40,000: a 90-minute interview training, blog, small write-up in a small magazine and 2-minute interview on a local news channel. THAT'S IT... for $40,000. When I asked to see a detailed bill, it took Jay Ray FOUR DAYS to fax it to me! When I questioned the honesty of their ridiculous billing summary, I was chastised on the phone by Kathleen Deakins, with her telling me that I ""need to be patient"". I was fed the same story by Mr. Jacobsen (CEO), and nobody cared about the financial harm Jay Ray caused us. If you hire this company, insist on paying AFTER the work is done but demand specific charges for specific goals UP FRONT.
Cons: Falsified billing documents, failed to complete job
