I have dealt with both Franz Judas, the founder of Franz Termite Control, and his son Michael, who now runs the business, for over 25 years. The people who work at Franz are very professional and friendly. They are a wonderful company that offers true customer service, and for this reason I have continued to use them.
Franz is able to provide consultation and inspection, as well as chemical work, but the fumigation is subcontracted out. The inspections themselves have been extraordinary--extremely thorough and including many things in addition to just pest control. Also, the treatment for subterranean termites has been very good. But in order to be rid of drywood termites, fumigation in a necessary.
Thirteen years ago, the fumigators that Franz subcontracted to were awful. They did an extraordinary amount of damage to my tile roof, costing me a lot of additional money. (All fumigation companies requires a release which essentially absolves them of any responsibility for damages.) The fumigators Franz now subcontracts to are much better. Due to the tenting, some degree of damage to tile roofs is inevitable. The new fumigators caused far less damage to the tile by using sponge-bottomed walking planks to walk on the tile roof.
In summation, the reason I choose Franz is that the service is outstanding, and their personnel are competent and committed. Franz worked to mitigate potential roof damage by choosing fumigation subcontractors who were far more careful with tile roofs.
