Review content:
I am young and moved to Salt Lake City in my youth. Though I spent many years growing up in Salt Lake I missed the better cuisine and atmosphere from larger cities where I had lived previously. It is no surprise that many people in Utah do not appreciate the fine dining at Tuscany because many people are not accustomed to their slightly different fare. I have been there on several different occasions and was always seated downstairs, in an excellent spot when i had reservations. The service, in my experience, was excellent and it is too bad other people have had a different experience with it. There simple but delicious thin crust heartbread has always been my favorite before my meal. Their salads are better than usual and generally enjoy their hearts of romaine Ceaser. Their wood oven roasted chicken always tastes like it was pulled right out of a wood stove. I appreciate the experience when I go. There are not many places in Utah that offer valet so I know it's unsettling for some people. The main thing to realize when going to Tuscany is that it is not the Olive Garden or Italian Village. Yes, it is expensive and the portion sizes are smaller than you would receive at one of those restaurants but this is fine dining; not your local Italian chain joint. For those with bad experiences, maybe give it a second try. For those who don't understand the prices and portion sizes then you probably have not been out of Utah often. Dishes like the chicken and halibut are of adequate, what I would consider generous, sizes. This is not Burger King so do not expect to get a Quad-Stacker sized cheeseburger. Acclimate yourself to a little culture and try to have a broader perspective of what a dining experience sometimes is.
Pros: Great place to dine around Salt Lake City
Cons: Not great if you aren't ready for a different experience from other offerings in Salt Lake
