Pros and cons of the Venue: There are many things to consider when renting a reception hall for any event especially for something that is an extremely momentous occasion. In our situation it was a Quinceanera that was held Saturday, 09/22/2012. First, I?ll talk about the positive...The location itself is not exactly centralized within the city but it does provide ample amount of parking and is located right next to a motel/hotel. When you first enter the building you will probably get your first whiff of mildew and smoke that has been permeated throughout the walls and carpets. However, the good thing is that you get used to it fairly quickly. The staff and management are quite friendly and professional...?.that is up to the point of the actual event. This was true in my case when dealing with management. Just to give you a brief overview. We rented both top and bottom portions of the reception hall and added a lot of extras which added up to a grand total of $2626.17. A DJ was also included in this price?..but WAIT?it?s not what you think. Four consecutive hours of professional DJ service DOES NOT mean your typical professional DJ services. The DJ will not announce nor introduce ANYONE or ANYTHING. The DJ will NOT utter one word. Per our experience with the Venue, DJ just means play music and that?s it. Even if you give them a list of timed events it won?t matter. The DJ does not speak?however he WILL watch a football game in his booth. This is something I witnessed first-hand. When we had the dance march I had to be in the DJ?s booth to direct him on when and what to music to play. I was literally telling him, ?Now switch to this song?, ?Put this song as background music while he talks?, ?now play this song??.I am not in any way shape or form experienced to handle the timing?.but I guess it was better than nothing. On the second floor near the bathroom there was a stack of junk?.not my junk?.?The Venue?s? Junk. I have pictures. However, it was covered by a tarp so I guess that made it better. We also had time delays with getting the lights turned on and dimmed back down. Now, I do admit we had dinner mints and some of our decorations had glitter on them. Having these is a big NO-NO on getting your deposit back. FYI?.they still owe us $2.11. They didn?t have enough change to give us the difference?.however when the Quinceanera wanted to get a water bottle, they asked her to pay for it first. This was our experience, I hope it will not be yours.
