Review content:
This is a small restaurant with only a few tables and a very intimate atmosphere, especially after the sun goes down, and this place has it all. The owners (David and Tammy) are wonderfully nice and really make an effort to stop at every table, especially if they see a new face. The staff are friendly and helpful and all seem happy to work in this great place. The food smells great as soon as you walk in the door.
All this is great, but what about the food? This little gem of an establishment has a large menu selection with a lot of variety. Some of the items are completely original creations of the owners and some are traditional dishes with personal flair. With such a small staff and such a large menu, it would be easy to assume that there might be only a few gems among a sea of mediocrity, but this is not so. Each and every dish that David and his staff prepares is amazing. We have had the opportunity to try more than half of the vegetarian (which are mostly vegan) dishes (of which there are a large variety) and David NEVER misses. And the non-vegetarian dishes are equally as amazing according to our friends. Simply put this place has AMAZING FOOD! We even order some to take home for the next day and it is still great then.
We have taken our kids and they loved everything from the pita to the mushroom barley soup, the machmusa to the mujadara, the falafel to the hummus, the baba ganouj to the Veggiterranean pizza. And if you love baklava, this is the place to get it. Did I mention the Pita? PITA! My personal favorite is the matmucha:sweet, tangy and spicy on the warm pita: it is a mouthful of awesome (our son put it this way).
If you are looking for something new, try this place, you will be in love immediately. If you love Mediterranean food, you must try this place, you will not be disappointed. This is our new favorite restaurant and we are taking our friends this weekend.
