Review content:
Back in 1989 I was a young mother. I had one daughter at the time and she was less than a year old. My husband at the time had horrible anger issues, was using narcotics on a regular basis and also seeing another woman. I stayed in the marriage believing that I was a bad wife and deserved the abuse. I thought I could change the circumstances and that I could HELP my husband to make a better life for our family. I was embarrassed because my marriage had failed so I kept the abuse a secrete from my family. Unfortunately my husbands temper grew and so did the violence. A good friend of mine had been to the RAVE shelter herself to obtain help after being physically and mentally tortured. She convinced me to also go there to escape from the abuse and to get help I needed to start a new life.
Pros: Every detail of my stay there was a positive one
Cons: There is never a ""con"" to being happy and safe
