Review content:
WOW, this place is fantastic. The decor is wild with leopard and tiger prints, and super plush armchairs in the dining room, but after the visual stimulation you get a taste of the food, and that is amazing. I thought I had died and gone to a parallel universe, because I haven't seen a menu this wide scale and varied for years. I have gotten so accustomed to the ubiquitous nature of restaurants in this country with the menus all appearing to be the same, with every place having either the exact same stuff or different pseudo clever names fro the exact same stuff that everybody else is serving because it is the exact same stuff delivered frozen from the same distributors. BUT, not so at Tony's; I am seeing many different things and it all apears to be made fresh in the kitchen, not deep frozen wonder food. I had the seared Ahi Tuna which was wonderful; rare, juicy and with real Wasabi (not the reconstituted paste) and my date had the Crab Cakes. Both delicious and freshly made. Oh, delicious crusty baguette with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar, and fresh grated Parmesan Cheese, to nibble at while we waited. A great Martini and a glass of wine from the rather nice wine list (USA, plus France, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Australia). We had the most wonderful veal I have ever tasted with prosciutto and fresh mozzarella and a killer caper butter sauce. My gal pal had a petite filet and it was cooked just the way she wanted it (rare). I am so impressed. The food tastes real and not full of artificial enhancers and whatever else they do to the food at Applecees or Fred Lobster. I now have renewed faith in American restaurants. Finally I can believe that someone cares and cares enough to serve real food made from scratch using real raw ingredients instead of a frozen pre-fabricated piece of nonsense or a packet of dehydrated or concentrated sauce to coat my food. Finally food that tastes real. Tony's Trattoria is now my favorite restaurant. You'll love it.
Pros: Best food & great variety on the menu.
Cons: None except reservations are a good idea at the weekend
