I am an ex Real Estate Agent, so you would think I would never buy a house without seeing it first. I had a family member to view it with my Real Estate Agent, who told me it was a good buy, well, of course, nothing is a final go without a inspection. My agent picked them, and there were things on their report I asked the owner to repair, the house had not been taken care of for years, so I planned to take the inspection report seriously, as there were certain repairs I was not willing to tackle. Things that would have been very costly. We did ask the owner to repair some plumbing and electric items, after moving in, I find many things that should have been on the list, that were not, sinking floor in the kitchen, hall and bath, which means I am going to need to spend extra money to have someone raise the foundation, plumbing issues that were over looked, I thought it was on the list but found out later it was not, I had to pay a plumber to repair it. Certain piping from the hot water heater that should have been extended outside but were not, plumber said, it should have been on the inspection report and that is could cause serious problems if it ever over flows. Gas line bent, Plumber said that could leak and be dangerous. very few functional electric outlets. etc, the list goes on, and does not include what was actually on the report. So not only am I spend a good bit of money on what I knew I needed to take care of, but other surprises, that Pillar to Post inspections should have seen and noted on the report. I would never use them myself again. I would not trust them. This is costing me more money than I have in the bank. It is a shame that we are to trust these people to help us, and then they hurt us. I will be filing a complaint against them and maybe even taking them to court.
