Update on Cafe Express in Southeast Evanston: Since the new owners, John and Brian have taken over, this place has had a major gut rehab in terms of the service, attitude, product quality and overall atmosphere! My wife and I experienced the ""old"" Cafe Express, and unfortunately had to agree with some of the other reviewer's disparaging comments. The ""new"" Cafe Express is super family friendly, but frequented by plently of childless couples and individuals (so it's a good balance between the two). Brian and John infuse a long-awaited sense of small town, local community with their ""happy to see you"" smiles and uncanny ability to remember the smallest details of your life. They're wifi friendly, brew award-winning coffee and a great selection of roles, light sandwiches and juices. They're have life acoustic music this Saturday night, if that's any indicator of how this place has turned around.
Pros: Ownership, Coffee, Warm Atmosphere
Cons: Not enough couches, No fireplace
