After searching online for weeks and visiting countless shops, I decided to have my wedding dress made. I visited several dressmakers and after meeting Maria, I knew my search was over.
I was a little concerned about the cost of a handmade tailored dress - one dressmaker wanted over $7000! Maria was quite reasonable - in fact when you factor in the cost of buying a dress, then having it tailored to fit - Maria was a bargain!
I showed her several pictures of dresses I'd found online and Maria listened patiently to my ideas, and concerns and questions. She examined the images and then sat down and sketched out my dream dress in a matter of minutes. Her knowledge of fabrics, tailoring, and a woman's body were incredible. She knew just how to pick the most flattering neckline, which fabrics would camoflauge trouble areas and which would enhance my assets.
Due to a medical situation and medications, my measurements were changing constantly and Maria was fabulous about the adjustments. She dealt with my detail oriented mother and my wedding jitters with patience and diplomacy.
At my penultimate meeting with Maria, I was a little concerned that the dress wouldn't fit properly, but when I went for my final visit to pick up the dress - it was PERFECT and so amazingly comfortable! It wasn't heavy even though there were layers and layers of material in the tiered skirt. It felt light and airy and made me look and feel like a princess. The fabrics were lush and extravagant - the beading was intricate and not overdone.
If I could think up an excuse to have another dress made, I would go back to Maria in an instant! Everyone LOVED my dress! It was truly stunning and Maria is a magnificent person. I highly recommend her!
