Do you love the look of American Eagle Outfitters. Alot of teens do, the higher priced clothing and stores give you the impression of a nice store. If you normally shop at stores that give good customer service, you do, you will be very disappointed with AM stores and even more so with their online shopping. My children are 12 and l4. They are so excited to finally be at the age and size to wear AE. We did alot of our back to school shopping there. My 12 year old daugher stood in line for 20 or more minutes for her to try on jeans. When it was her time to enter a dressing room. The sales person went and opened the door and barely made eye contact as my daughter entered. I was told I couldn't go with her. When the pants didn't fit, the sales girl just mumbled and took them from her and didn't even offer to help her get a different size. She looked for a different style and size and stood in line again. My oldest daughter worked at Express during her college days. She would never have offered such low level customer service. She would have been fired if she had. I know it was a busy time of year...back to school shopping time. Did it catch AE off guard? Were they not expecting the stores to be crowded and supply some extra staff? Other stores had extra staff keeping their stores clean, restocking as needed, making customers feel welcomed, and wee helpful.....not the AE store. It's not like this is a lower end priced store. I could have gone to some bigger Mall stores and bought the same type of clothing, with better sales and better customer service. I think AE spends too much money and it's ad campaign and not enough on customer service. Sadly my online order is an even worse nightmare. I will review the online shopping failed attempt next! If your daughter thinks wearing AE clothes are cool and will boost her self-esteem think again. She may leave the store feeling embarrassed and frustrated.
