Review content:
We read about Asanebo in Zagats 2006 edition and just HAD to try it. Having gone to some of the best sushi restaurants all over L.A., we wanted to see if this place lived up to the review written in there. It did just that and MORE!! We always sit at the sushi bar, and Chef Koji is the greatest chef out there. The waitstaff and hosts/hostesses are friendly and completely on the ball at all times. Your drink is refilled before asking & if you drop a chopstick new ones are brought to you in seconds. We especially love their Spanish Mackerel sushi, unagi, and spicy tuna rolls (I actually DISLIKE spicy tuna rolls at most other places). Oh, and the soft shell crab roll is to die for! Their wasabi is fresh & seems better than most. It doesn't leave your soy sauce murky. Oh, and if you happen to be from out of town or have guests in town, they will love the celebrity sightings! You MUST try this place, don't believe the other reviews. We go weekly, despite the prices. It is well worth every penny.
Pros: fresh sushi, friendly knowledgable chefs
Cons: valet parking only
