Lessons learned:
1: Do not buy a Fisher Paykel product.
2: Do not but a Fisher & Paykel product at American Superstores.....or any other product for that matter.
I bought a Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer there 3 years ago.$1200 total. Within the month, the washer was replaced under warranty. The warranty lasts two years. Now out of warranty, the washer breaks down again. Now, I expect a little more use out of an $800 appliance. I call F & P and they tell me that they will most likely cover the parts to fix it (A little research revealed that they have had a lot of problems with this washer so F & P has been extending the warranty. Yeah, I should have done THAT research 3 years ago.) but I will have to take it to the nearest dealer.....American Supershysters. So I take it down there. They want $45 up front or they won't even look at it but they won't give me any guarantee that F & P will cover the parts, so.... either I cough up $45 that they keep, no matter what or they won't do and ""evaluation"" and F & P won't pay for any parts until American Supershysters does an evaluation. I refuse to be screwed by both the manufacturer AND the seller (who's salesman insisted that they had been using this model of washer for years in Europe with hardly any problems and hardly any of them ever came back to with a problem, lying sack of ......) So I told them where to stick the washer and left the piece of junk on their dock.
The moral of the story is: American Supershysters WILL try to screw you out of more of your hard earned money rather than try to help make a problem with your purchase there right. Supershysters will NEVER get another penny of my money and hopefully enough people will come to the some conclusion to force them to change their business practices.
Cons: Do not stand behind the products they sell.
