Review content:
Two of the doctors in this business are top notch. Dr. Felix and Dr. Palumbo (sp?) are truly the best you can get. If you could base your experience on just those 2 doctors alone I would highly recommend this pet hospital without a hesitation. They know their animals and you can tell they care.
But unfortunately other doctors they have had, past and present, in with them aren't as well versed or caring. Their staff also seems to be a bit lax in knowledge and ability.
I've also experienced 'surprise' bills with them. I've called ahead to get a price on something that is basically a 'standard' procedure, been quoted one price on the phone and take the animal there to be surprised with another price. In particular euthanism. This is not a time when you normally would barter or be all that picky but when you have many strays and those animals you help and a very limited income you tend to shop around, if even only to a few places locally. When they quote you a price that is the price you expect. I brought a cat in to be euthanized (20 years old) and walked out paying a good $20 more than quoted. There was no reason for this... no special circumstances, just that this was the price they charged me. I was so upset I, of course, didn't even argue. At that time I could have cared less as I was handing over a member of my family but I think it's terrible that anyone would do that.
Another family member had something similar happen when one of the 'other' doctors prescribed heart medication for her lab and when she returned one of the highly recommended doctors was aghast that he was on this medication and took him off. Needless to say shortly after the 'other' doctor was no longer with the hospital but I personally think that you should be able to trust them completely at all times.
This all being said, I will also comment that I have 2 family members that highly recommend Glenwood and have taken all of their animals there. I believe that Dr. Felix and Dr. Palumbo are the reasons they stay.
