Review content:
I just picked up my dog from Fantasia Pet Resort in Reno, NV. When I took her in, she was healthy, brimming with personality and full of life. When I picked her up, she barely acknowledged me, was weak, trembling and looked shell-shocked.
When I called to ask the people at Fantasia Pet Resort what had happened, they told me that my dog was drinking water excessively, but they didn't think this was a concern. I pointed out that this is a SYMPTOM THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG.
When I got my dog home, she drank some water and started vomiting this thick snot-like substance which was covered in foam. I called the vet and the doctor had already left for the night, so I made an appointment for the next morning. I called Fantasia Pet Resort, Reno NV several more times and noticed how their answers to my questions kept changing. First they told me that she'd been drinking water excessively for a couple of days, then they accused me of bringing in a sick dog.
Long story short I had to take my dog to emergency that night. The pads on her paws were cold and she was fading fast. The doctor told me that my dog was severely dehydrated. He also said that I had a choice to euthanize my dog or pay for emergency surgery. I opted for the surgery and my dog had to have her spleen removed.
These people had my dog for 8 days. She was groomed on the last day of her visit, people fed and gave her water daily and no one noticed that something was wrong. No one noticed the dramatic change in her behavior. No one called me to say that my dog was drinking an excessive amount of water because no one cared.
I dropped off a healthy, affectionate, vital dog and picked up a dying, obviously dehydrated dog. I will never ever go back to Fantasia Pet Resort, Reno NV and suggest that you think very carefully before leaving your beloved pet in their care.
Pros: None. Wish I could give them zero stars
Cons: They care more about their bottom line than the pets
