Review content:
I'm surprised to read so many good reviews on Dr. Spiegel. I guess even great doctors have bad days. My poor sister had to see him for repairs to her face after an accident. He came across as arrogant and insensitive, and caused her a tremendous amount of pain. Then again, unlike his Newbury street patients, she saw him in the hospital after head and neck trauma. She had to be squeezed into his busy schedule and it's her insurance company that will pay him. Perhaps her case was somewhat inconvenient for him. I can't help thinking, though, that a good doctor would have been more compassionate. It's scary to be in an accident and see how your face has been mutilated. A truly great doctor would have been able to reassure her. I hope and trust that his skill is better than his bedside manner for those patients who have no choice but to rely on him! Pros: medical center with great reputation and trauma center, office staff was very understanding Cons: Dr. Spiegel's bedside manner should be consistently compassionate
