Review content:
Real estate involves aggressive sales techniques, but Heidi Spellman and her Associate Randi Sternberg Hersh, in our experience with them, were less than forthright and made misrepresentations that induced us to spend money on a deal that could not be consummated. Essentially, Ms. Spellman and Ms. Sternberg Hersh assured us that a prior accepted offer had been null and void and that the seller of the home had accepted our offer. After assuring us that this was the case, we paid for an inspection and an attorney only to find out that the prior accepted deal was in place, the contract for that deal had been signed, and we were merely induced to expend resources to serve as a backup to the prior deal in case that deal fell through. Finally, they placed inaccurate information on their listing sheet regarding property taxes, and Ms. Sternberg Hersh specifically stated that the taxes as listed did not include any exemptions. After our offer had been accepted and contrary to everything that we had been told, Ms. Sternberg Hersh advised us that the taxes as listed included exemptions and that the actual taxes were $2,000 per year more.
