Review content:
I had been a member of golds gym for more than 8 years. My experience has not been good. Golds bought this gym from fitness connection about 8 years ago. They have raised the rates many times promising to fix it up. The only fix up we go was they gave some equipment away or sold it, and after several years put in a few new treadmills. Otherwise fixing up meant painting. The a/c was allowed to be out for 4 months over the summer last year without repair. They did not even appologize. The front desk staff and most of the gym staff have a I don't care attitude. The place is not kept clean. Often papertowels are out, disinfectant spray is out, and locker rooms are dirty. When you sign up they put a draft on your account beware they can change the amount they draw and the frequency any time they want. They recently moved to bi weekly billing so you would not be able to tell how much your rate is increasing as easily and if you don't like it you can quit, but they will make you pay for additonal months even though they changed the contract. I quit but thank goodness I did not have a contract and when they tried to make me pay for additional months I had to threaten legal action against them. I also filed a complaint with the BBB and attorney general for this practice. Bottom line find a different gym if at all possible.
