Cumberland Mountain Outreach was an outreach program we heard about from a local church. All I can say is WOW! We signed up to help families in dire need of housing repairs. We brought some materials for our intended family and what we didn't have CMO provided. We stayed in a/c cabins (although we didn't need a/c) on the campground and even had a campfire at night. We had everything we needed right there. We had a kitchen, supply building, tool warehouse, restrooms and showers. They even had a kids playground and tennis courts that we could play on at night. The family we helped were so thankful and kept asking how they could ever repay us. Don't get me wrong we worked and worked some more but seeing the hope in those kids eyes was worth it all. On our down time we were able to sight see. They have rock climbing, the natural bridge state park, and a must see hoedown island. It was really cool to see clog dancing. Cindy, the director of CMO was so helpful and met all our needs. I would definitely recommend this for any church, group, or individual retreat wanting to take a missions trip and get the reward of changing peoples lives.
