After reading the reviews here and after getting bored with all of the usual pizza places my wife and I go, we decided we should go on a pizza adventure; find a new great pie. So on Friday night we left our downtown condo and headed towards Vinings. The place is located in a small strip mall and was surprisingly smaller than I imagined. When we approached the door, we saw a group of 6-8 guys sitting around a freshly delivered 18 inch hand tossed pie. My wife and I looked at each other and asked the waiter what style that was. It looked amazing. We placed our order at the counter as there is not full table service. I got an order of 5 x-hot wings and we ordered our ""test"" pizza(the one you order that is basic enough to give you an idea of its quality), NY hand tossed pepperoni and pinapple. We sat down at one of the booths and got comfortable. It was a nice vibe, busy enough, but not crazy. My wings arrived first and very quickly. Delicious. I always order them extra crispy and these were perfect. The X-hot was not crazy hot, but just perfect heat for a pre-pizza app. The pizza followed when I was was on wing 3(i love that I can order 5 since any more would be a waste with a pie coming) and it looked loaded and delicious. The crust was a golden brown unlike any pie crusts I have ever seen. The first bite was great because we both knew it was worth the trip. The toppings, crust, cheese and sauce were all perfectly balenced. Bottom line, it was a great pizza. It was a style all its own and better than what 99% of what other places try to do. NY's will not think it is NY style and I cannot speak of the deep dish. But if you just want a quick delicious meal, this is a great place. We will be back for certain. And we will be bringing others. Right now, this is our #2 pizza place behind Shorty's, though I can see it being tied for #1 because the menu looks like it has some gems to be mined. BTW, our meal cost us $20.20. Pros: Everything we had was great. Even the sweat tea! Cons: I only wish I lived near it!
