Review content:
I haven't eaten at the Dixie's in Hyde Park, but the on in Evanston has great food and good service. The fried green tomatos are worth driving to Evanston for alone; they are fried good, hard and hot with a dash of hot sauce; ummm good. The fried chicken is good; but the greens didn't have enough smoked flavor to them. The johnnie cakes (or hot water cornbread) is the bomb too. The fried catfish couldn't have been better; but the iced tea was very comforting and you sweetened it yourself. The mac and cheese was great as well. We have to take our food home cause we couldn;t eat it all. Now; the dessert; the peachcobbler was just like my grandmom makes it. The peaches are sweet; and the juice is runny and sweet; you can taste the butter and sugar in it; very, very good. Pros: Fried Green Tomatoes, Johnnie Cakes, Good Parking Cons: Small and Crowded, Need Reservations, Greens flat
