That's about the best I can say for this place after around 6 visits. it should be better than it is. The wait staff tries hard and the drinks are good, but the kitchen is maddeningly uneven. The steaks are usually a safe bet, but last visit they served a saut?ed soft shell crab entr?e that was inedible, and perhaps the single worst entr?e I have ever been presented in a restaurant. On the plus side, the appetizer menu is usually pretty reliable and a dinner of just appetizers may be the safest way to go. I happen to love the downstairs dining room, although I see the comments on that are all over the map. They try really, really hard, to their credit. Pros: They try hard Cons: Extremely uneven kitchen
