Review content:
We thought this restaurant was extremely beautiful, with a really attractive decor. It's a shame, because it could be a great place to bring a date, were it not for the incredibly loud patrons, bad acoustics, close-together tables, and lack of background music on the upstairs level.
Perhaps we happened to be there on a particularly raucous evening, but that doesn't excuse the too-close seating and lack of background music. There were two loud tables: a ladies' nite out group of six across from us by about four feet (tolerable), and a date nite table of six directly behind us.
With the table of six directly behind us by about a foot, it was truly grating and unbearable.
To be one foot away from six loud, yelling back-and-forth, intoxicated people is not our idea of a pleasant evening. It made it impossible to talk to each other. No amount of ""hairy eyeball"" seemed to discourage these patrons. Nice baseballs hats, too. It's always great to buy an expensive dinner & stare at someone's dirty baseball hat.
Acoustical tiles, fewer tables, and soft background music on the upper level would be nice. Also, we didn't enjoy suddenly hearing the BOOMING BASS BEAT from the restaurant below that lasted the rest of the meal. Were we being deliberately tortured? Do they not care?
I definitely would never, ever bring a date here. I would, however, bring a loud, screaming party of drunks.
Oh, yeah, and the food and service was excellent. So sad.
