I often wonder if you know, how many lives you have changed. Each life that you have touched, you have changed for the better. You send people out into the world, so much better for having known you. We are then able to give to others, the love, caring and compassion that you have given to us. In this way your influence grows exponentially. Each person that you touch, touches at least five others. You change habits, you change the cycle. So because of you, love is spread instead of hate. We embrace courage, instead of fear. We use communication, instead of violence. We show each other acceptance, instead of prejudice. We accept ourselves, and change our expectations. Instead of anger, we show each other compassion. You teach us how to be better people. It's not something that can be bought at any store. It can't be learned from books. It's not taught at the most expensive seminars. Tell us - how does one person know all that he knows? You could probably work for big, expensive corporations teaching their executives how to be better with people. Or for government agencies or the court system. You probably could teach doctors and hospitals how to save more of their patients. You would make tons of money in these endeavors. Instead, you have decided to work with: The poor, the abused, the confused, the clueless, the sick, the dying, the unloved, the friendless, and the people who feel unwanted in this world. You give them all a voice. You took us in and made us feel: Rich in love and warmth, accepted in spite of our stubbornness; you turned our confusion into knowledge; you showed us how to make friends (first with ourselves) and made it so, that we finally felt wanted. So, it's no secret how ""rich"" a human being you already are. On this day, we send a lot of love your way and thank you for helping to change the world and make it a better place. Peace and Love, J J Cummings
