Review content:
Flyte is a restaurant so good and so inventive that you'd think you were walking into one of the best places in lower Manhattan instead of Nashville. Not only are the dishes ridiculously thoughtful and satisfying, but there is absolutely no air of pretension or snobbery about it. Flyte and its staff are concerned with only one thing -- creating a full dining experience; the likes of which exists nowhere else in Nashville.
The key to really enjoying your visit is to let the chef take you on a culinary journey, and to trust that everything will be top notch. I admit that some of the dishes pushed me to try things that I might not have picked out on my own, and the rewards for my trust were many. I found myself enjoying foods and dishes that seemed intellectually counter intuitive. It is this mastery of palette that pervades everything from the antipasti all the way through to dessert. Plus they accommodated my extreme food sensitivities in a way no other restaurant in Nashville has been able to do. Believe me, this is no easy feat.
The staff made my girlfriend's birthday very memorable, and the food is priced such that it doesn't just have to be a place for special occasions. Go! Now!
Pros: Attention to every detail, world-class chef, underpriced
Cons: No stomach is big enough to hold all the choices!
