Sure they were short staffed, but that did not entirely explain the poor wait service. The worst part - when the bill came our party was surprised there wasn't a 2 for 1 special as was adverstised on MetroMix. When this was explained to the owner, we were simply told the special was no longer in effect (even though it was still being advertised!), and the owner did NOTHING for the inconvenience. I was excited to frequent a neighborhood wine bar (my husband and I had been here several times over the last few months), but I have to say we will never be back. It's sad to see what poor service patrons can get at a neighborhood venue, and as an Oak Park resident I was embarassed by this in front of my out of town guests. One more thing - the food isn't very good. It's mediocre at best, and my husband and I are done giving it another shot and holding on to hope it will improve. Pros: only wine bar in town Cons: bad service, mediocre food
